by: Keith & Rema Smith A step-by-step fundraising guide

So far, you have planned your fundraiser, chosen a product, selected a vendor and now it's time to get into the meat of the action by setting up the sale.

Once you have this completed, the rest of the fundraising should be a breeze. That's right! Even the selling part is easy because you only have to sell to friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors you know.

Fact is: In all aspects of life, building the foundation is always the most difficult part.

Now with the fundraising guide in your hands, the beginning stages of your activity is a snap.

What you are actually doing in this section is developing a schedule. It should include the following:

* Kick-off Date * Order Forms Due Date (2-3 weeks of selling is enough-beyond that the fundraiser loses luster) * Date for calling in or sending orders to your fundraising vendor or rep * Date of Delivery Other events to keep in mind while creating a schedule are:

*Kick-Off Assemblies- Gets the kids excited who in turn get their parents excited *Press release date - don't forget that newspapers have deadlines *Order pick-up times *Date to hand out prizes, perhaps another assembly where announce the top sellers.

Now you are armed with the building blocks of a great fundraiser. Let the fun begin. Our next edition of this special report will cover: How to Motivate Your Sellers.
