Selling other people's products is a quick, easy, and hassle-free way to start making some extra income. It can also be used to launch a full fledged, lucrative business. One of the easiest ways to do this is through affiliate programs.

Affiliate programs are designed to pay you money each time you tell a friend or colleague about the product or service. So, just by recommending something, you can make money.

Affiliate programs can be used on your own website, or you can start making money from them without having a website at all.

Most people make common mistakes when they first discover affiliate programs. Some of these include: 1. Signing up for every program they can find 2. Putting loads of banners and links on their website with no thought for theme, content, or organization 3. Assuming that money will start rolling in immediately, and automatically, just by signing up and placing a banner or two

The truth is... making money with affiliate programs is more than possible. And making a lot of money is also possible. There's actually a term for those affiliates who make a lot of money: Super Affiliates. The definition of this term varies from one program to another, but in general, a super affiliate usually makes $100,000 or more each year, just from the affiliate programs they promote.

Now, the other truth to this business is: The numbered scenarios above are all too common. So the majority of affiliate marketers get frustrated and disappointed quickly... then they assume it's just not possible to make money with affiliate programs, so they give up.

Any type of business needs commitment and hard work. And affiliate-based businesses are no exception to this rule. If you commit the time, research, and effort though, you will end up with an almost hands-free business within a very short time.

Now there are a couple of ways to build a successful affiliate-based business. 1. Build a website which is based around a common theme or topic, then make sure that every single link on that website leads to something that can make you money. 2. Place paid advertisements which link directly to your affiliate partner sites.

The first method takes time primarily, and a small amount of investment. Your investment is usually limited to getting a domain name, and setting up your own Website hosting account. From that point, your investment is simply time and effort. Time to create the pages, Effort to find appropriate, well paying affiliate programs, and time plus effort to keep a steady stream of targeted traffic coming in.

The second method takes time as well, but it also takes more of an investment. Using this method, you don't have to have a domain and website if you don't want to. Instead, your money is invested into search engine Pay Per Click Advertisements. The time side of things is spent finding quality affiliate sites to link to, and researching low-cost, targeted keywords. Then of course you have to continually tweak and refine your PPC advertisements.
